OC ends “INTERNET Fast”

Sometimes we Christians don’t get it. OK, we don’t get it most of the time and when we do get things right its because of God at work within us.

What does this have to do with an INTERNET fast?

God showed me that this blog had become an idol for me. I was so focused on promoting the site and learning about the INTERNET that I started to neglect the most important things in my life. I wasn’t reading the Bible. I wasn’t reading Christian authors. I was snippy and rude when others needed me and I was on the computer.

So…why am I back?

I believe God showed me that I need to put this blog in it’s proper perspective for my life. How can I encourage others to be offensive Christians when I’m not living as I should?

I thank God that He opened my eyes to show me where I needed immediate change.

I’d like to take some time soon to discuss with you Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands by Paul David Tripp. I’ve been reading it as well as Galatians and James. My study time has been very rewarding and has opened up areas for growth.

I’d like to recommend you pick up a copy of the book either from Amazon below or any other source and take some time to discuss it with me here. I’ll be posting through the book soon. The link below is an affiliate link so if you buy here I’ll get something like 10 cents from the sale. Please feel free to buy from any other source or even see if you can check the book out from the library for free. Just read it. I think its that good.

Here today…gone tomorrow

I was informed tonight I deploy tomorrow. I hope to be back in a few weeks. Please keep me and my family in your prayers.

I hope to be strong in the Lord and use this time for His glory. In these uncertain times I hope to meditate on His Word.

Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say [b] of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

IT’S THE OC’S BIRTHDAY!

It’s the OC’s birthday and I have to share a little tidbit…we both own a Nintendo Wii.  In one area of “Wii Sports” you test your stamina, accuracy and strength and the system calculates your “Wii age”.  As you get better playing Wii (through spending more time playing & practicing) your score improves, and a lower Wii age is better.

Why mention Wii Sports on the Offensive Christians site?  Well, my relationship with Christ improves as I spend time in the Word, praying and having fellowship with other Christians.  I’m sad to admit my “God age” would score worse than my “Wii age” lately.  How would you score?

ITS THE OCS BIRTHDAY!

The Mission Bay Community Church created the “Jesus Mii”.
