I’m very interested in Black Liberation Theology (BLT) - the theology espoused by Rev.  Jeremiah Wright at his Trinity United Church of Christ. I’ve only begun reading about this movement but it concerns me greatly. It appears at first blush to be a theology based on victimization rather than the reality of Christ’s sacrifice for us.

It seems that BLT relies on the concepts of victimization blended with the Maxist dialectic. It proposes that blacks are dehumanized by rich whites and they experience a sort of rehumanization in church on Sundays by communing with the oppressed Christ.

The gospel, it seems to me, is so much richer than that.

My question above is my biggest concern. What would BLT leaders do if they had the power?  All of the vitriol against whites and America leads me to fear the worst.
